Short Story: It Begins

I started the short story today. I decided it was a real idea, and not just a "interesting" idea. The beginning is slow (not to read, but to write). My character is not exactly a ball of energy at the moment. He's beaten down, depressed, and carrying more guilt than he should. We all fuck up. At least his was in the right place. I suppose that's not much comfort, given the circumstances.

And who knows. Maybe things aren't as bad as they seem. Maybe there's a second story, left behind where his story started. Or waiting where he's headed.

I love it when a fresh story idea is beginning to unfold.

I'm crawling at about a sentence an hour at the moment. I'm still jealous of how well you know your characters.

Cate: It helps when you've seen them naked.
