I think I am almost done with OCEAN, my love letter to Japanese men (gay and straight), seafood, and Japan. I listened to the soundtrack on the treadmill, and thank goodness I did. I had forgotten a lot of the journey that got me here. It makes me realize why it was so hard to write this week. Nothing triggers OCD like self-doubt. In any case, I am in love with my characters again. Not that I fell out of love, but I had lost touch with them. I realized that Tomoaki, a character that almost didn't exist at all, saved the story. My original ideas were good but there would have been no passion (take that any way you want). There is also Suzuki-san, a character there would have been no need for. So thank you, Tomoaki. You are a pain in the ass, but you're the best thing to ever happen to OCEAN.
I listened to this song six times while I was writing this entry. Enjoy!

This video... reminds me of a poetry slam I went to in Austin a long time ago, where a gentleman who looks amazingly like the lead singer basically just screamed at the audience and then pulled raw meat out from inside his trench coat and squeezed until there was a puddle of blood on the floor. The vegan contingent was not amused.
Anyway, congrats on Ocean!
Natalie, I love the relationships you have with your characters!
Word Verification: worst.
Seriously.
I love hearing how your characters come to be.
Passion. Totally makes a story, and you've got it in droves. <3 your characters, and this is just why!
Get it wrapped up and sent out. I want to buy a Natalie Sin novel!
What Mike said :D
