Sin for Sale

OLD SCHOOL, the anthology with my stories "Runaway" and "New Human", has been reviewed by Eric Mays at THE AUTHORS SPEAK. Check out the interview if you're still on the fence, you'll want the book when you're done : )

As befitting its title, OLD SCHOOL brings back horror the way it used to be. My stories involve werewolves and Frankenstein, respectively. My werewolves are not sexy, nor do they have shirtless pissing contests with emo vampires. As for Frankenstein, I looked at it as a science fiction story (like the first one). "New Human" ended up being one of my favorite stories, and one I still think about. I'm not sure if I'll ever take Mr. May's suggestion to make it bigger, but I have to admit the idea is tempting. I miss my Frankenstein monster, and the creature she helped create.

In other news, I got my copy of MALICIOUS DEVIANCE: an anthology about bad people doing bad things. Horror is full of bad guys, but the good guys are usually the stars. The ones you root for, feel bad for. In this anthology, you're going to root for the bad guy. Either that, or get nightmares. My story, "Death and Decay," is set in Sai Gung, Hong Kong. I've been there in real life since, and told my father-in-law how cool it was to see that the stuff I wrote about is "real". I was only referring to the location, but Tai-Dau is one of my favorite all time characters. Like "New Human", I'm tempted to bring him back some day. He's going to keep killing people, I might as well write about it.

"Exceptional" - well reviews don't come better than that.
